A Christian Life Is Different

A Christian life is either more joyful than the lives of unbelievers or it is more miserable. Jesus makes lives different in many ways. He determines how their hearts and their persons and their lives should be different. With their consent He gets it done.

When I insist on having my own will, I lose His guidance and His power in my life. At those times I also lose my joy and my satisfaction with my life. I am more joyful and have more satisfaction when I serve Him than I had before I was a Christian. When I am disobedient to Him I am more miserable than I was before I was a Christian.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Fully receiving Him is receiving His will for our lives. It is receiving His guidance. It is receiving His power. Individuals who want to determine for themselves how they will live their lives are in that sense their own God. They are their own idol. They live as if God did not exist.

1 John 5:11-12: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Philippians 1:21: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

1 Thessalonians 5:10: Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Titus 2:12: Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Psalms 100:2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Gladness is a byproduct of serving the Lord, of living in His will.
